Prof. Temel Özek, (PhD,) studied chemical engineering and has two master degrees in two different area (Chemical engineering and pharmacy). He completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering in 1994.
He worked 26 years in the Medical and Aromatic Plant and Drug Research Center. Meanwhile he worked in the Anadolu University, Faculty of Pharmacy.
His main research area include, essential oil production and fractionation (modern and classical techniques e.q. SFE-CO2, MW.) He also has sophisticated analytical techniques such as GC, GC/MS, MD-GC/MS, UPC2, FT-IR, NMR and design of commercial scale distillation, fractionation systems.
He took place as a trainer in national and international programs e.g. TÜBİTAK, FAO, UNIDO and ICS.
He was the editor of Natural Products/ Essential oils of “Records of Natural Products” between 2012-2016. He has served and continues to serve in different commissions affiliated to Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Industry.
